How To Alleviate Your Acne Problem
For the many millions of people worldwide who suffer with acne, the fact that it is the most common of all skin complaints is no consolation and it is not solely a condition suffered by young people. Although it is most common in teenagers it can still affect anyone and with almost nine out of every ten people having to deal with it at some point it is probably the prevalent condition on the planet.
Generally, acne is the result of excess oil or sebum in the hair follicles but this is not the only cause nor does it mean that over production of oil equals acne either. Acne seems to be a condition that is not necessarily a natural one and something that past generations did not suffer with.
Fortunately acne can be treated and one off the many causes of this condition is the hormone adjustments made when a person is growing up although it can also be as a result of makeup that has not been removed fully or pollution. Other factors can be responsible to, like the consumption of too much junk and reprocessed food, which is high in unhealthy sugars.
For a recurring or severe case of acne, many sufferers turn to a dermatologist for a more aggressive treatment and in most cases, a prescribed routine and medication can help to treat acne. Having a dermatologist treat the condition is not such a bad idea as he or she will be able to better check on how well the treatment is he prescribed. It is very important to avoid aggravating, or disrupting, any and all acne blemishes otherwise, the sufferer will face a possible bacterial infection from dirt or germs that may reside underneath the fingernails.
Unfortunately just because fingernails look clean does not mean they are, and as bacteria are usually invisible to the naked eye, there is no guarantee that an infection cannot be passed on. To be on the safe side it is always wiser for an acne victim not to touch any of their pimples with their hands just in case.
The chances of perfect skin are virtually zero and you are more likely to suffer with acne if your parents also had the condition. Although the likelihood is that you will suffer from acne during your years at school and college. Acne can cause emotional problems for sufferers, especially when they are young so it is advisable that the opinion of a dermatologist be sought for further treatment.
