Pump up your tires!

Do you know what is a pain? A flat tire. Do you know how to mend it? A tire pump! Well kind of. By maintaining the right tire pressure in your tires, you can put a stop to uneven wear on your tires which will keep your tires in outstanding shape and prevent flats.

A tire with low tire pressure, either on a bike or a automobile, can also cause troubles with fuel efficiency. If tires are inadequately inflated, your miles per gallon will lessen because your tires are less round and will need more energy to move the motor vehicle. A correct tire pump, either a manual pump or electric, will help you keep your tires inflated.

Did you know that most fuel stations require compensation to pump your tires up? Last week I drove around the city and most gas stations were requiring .75 cents for air. I thought this was unbelievable.

It is advisable to check your tire pressure on a monthly basis. If your car is still under going regular maintenance, your dealer will probably blow up your tires to the recommended pressures. If it is not, you should be checking your tires monthly and go by the PSI values on your door jamb. It is alright if you exceedgo beyond the recommended PSI, but be careful of going over the maximum rated pressure for the tire, which is listed as MAX PSI on your tire.

The same holds true for bicycle tires, which you will be using a bike tire pump. You can also use a 12v tire pump
